Why is it the "simplest explanation"? I can see it may be the most common reason why somebody cannot log in, but in what sense is it the "simplest"? Wouldn't it be just as simple explanation that something is wrong with the server?
It makes sense to start trouble-shooting with the most commonly occurring explanation, but is that the definition of Occam's Razor?
